about

Fauci (Jaws), where everything external is funneled, bitten and chewed; where matter and experience crash, slam and blend together. Fauci, the place where new elements get into the body and where the merging process begins the transmutation into new identities.

This work builds upon foundations of personal and musical diversity. Three different approaches towards music melted together giving birth to a new uncharted and unexpected organism.

This music is the outcome of a one day recording session and it feeds on both individual extemporaneous ideas and improvisational strategies. Metal strings, preparations, pedals, effects, ring modulators, synthesizers, miniaturized graphic scores, improvisation in apnea: Fauci chews them up, chops them up, swallows them and translates them into just a one-hour long album.

Fauci is a record structured in three parts and each part collects three pieces: one codex, one faux and one apnoea. The tracks are grouped three by three and each section is both self-contained and interlocked with the others. By these means Fauci can be listened to as an uninterrupted flow of sound, or it can be explored by moving freely towards the sections. Fauci is meant to be a constellation of sonic fragments with some openness for the listener to interact and explore. The last track is one last beginning, one last codex, that symbolically opens the form and expands the sound beyond the record itself.
